I chose to use the colors associated with our country in order to express my interpretation of America. This red pot was sitting on my porch, which is a gray-blue, so I enhanced the blue, and got the exact connection to the assignment I was hoping for. I think that this photo goes outside the box in a sense that the essence of our country isn't the main subject but the color theme. I also think that it is neat how the composition of the horizontal photo with a view of the pot through the fence looks like a flag. The siding looks like stripes and the red is gridded to look like the upper left hand corner of the American flag.
